Our hearing specialist, Heather Hatfield, genuinely cares about each of her patients, and she will do whatever she can to help you improve your hearing health.
What to Expect at Your First Appointment
When you come to Heart of Hearing Ear Clinic, you will always be greeted by both our hearing specialist and front office manager. Our goal is to help you feel comfortable during your appointment, so you can focus on your hearing health.
To begin, we will go over the paperwork you filled out and have a conversation to get to know you better. This discussion will help us get more detail on your hearing, overall health, lifestyle, and goals.
Then we will perform an ear exam by looking inside your ears at the ear canal and eardrum. If you have a build-up of earwax that is affecting your hearing, we can remove that in office.
After we’ve checked your ears, then we will begin the hearing test. The hearing test is quick and easy. We will assess how well you can hear sounds as well as your ability to hear speech in noise and quiet.
We will go over the results of your hearing test with you, explain what your audiogram means, and show you some hearing aids in person.
If you decide to move forward with hearing aids, we will discuss some different options and what the benefits are.
